Chief of Operations
Scott Lee joined Thomas James Capital in Early 2015 as President and Chief Operating Officer of the corporation. Scott retains corporate responsibility for all operations of the company including design, all construction functions, purchasing, as well as the finance division of the company. All of the department managers and their various support staff members report to Scott. In the field, 9 project managers who have corporate responsibility for 5 to 8 individual homes also report to Scott.
Prior to joining Thomas James Capital as President and COO, Scott worked for ore than 20 years as an operation and finance executive for real estate development companies– both private and public. He is an entrepreneurial minded leader and a motivated difference maker who listens attentively and focuses on internal and external customer needs. With a long term proven success in the development and annual long term business plans, management of accounting and financial reporting, cash flow planning and management and financial modeling, Scott is focused on creating teams of dedicated professionals to deliver results that exceed expectations.
In prior capacity as CFO for a home building company, Scott was integral in creating processes and procedures to enable the company to grow from 62 closings to 1286 closings. While serving in the CFO role, Scott had a key leadership role for all the divisions’ operational, business and financial decisions by serving as the key business partner to the President and management team. During his tenure, net earnings increased from $3 million to $115 million; margins expanded from 7% to 24%, employees increased from 35 to 250, and total division assets increased nearly tenfold, expanding from $35 million to $300 million.
